How to order online

All graduands eligible to attend can now book gown hire, photography requirements, ceremony tickets and celebration reception tickets online via the Ede & Ravenscroft website at

Select ‘Hire or purchase a graduation gown’, then in ‘Select your institution’ enter ‘ABDO’ and enter your ID (ie your ABDO membership number) and surname. You will also need to enter your email address.

When you try to login please note that people with double barrelled names that are separated by a space should always use their last name, for example Jones Smith becomes Smith. People with hyphenated names should use their full name with the hyphen removed, for example Smithe-Jones becomes SmitheJones. Apostrophe (‘) characters have been removed, so O’Connel becomes OConnel.

Ceremony tickets are required to gain access into the Cathedral, so please ensure you order these while you are online. There is no charge for your personal ticket, you are allowed up to four guest tickets at a cost of £22.50 per person. Tickets are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The closing date for online booking is 5.00pm, Monday 13 November 2017, so to avoid disappointment please book online as soon as possible.

Graduands will receive an invitation email when they become eligible to attend. If you follow the above procedures and find you are unable book online, this is probably because your eligibility to attend is still awaiting confirmation by the ABDO Examinations and Registration department.

On the day, the ceremony registration desk will be open from 4.00pm to 5.30pm in the Kentish Barn reception area, which is located within the International Study Centre. Your gown can then be collected from Ede and Ravenscroft staff in the adjacent Clagett Auditorium. Please remember to allow sufficient time for registration, gowning and photography. All graduands will be required to assemble in the Clagett Auditorium no later than 6.00pm for group pictures and the ceremony procession. The Cathedral doors will open at 6.30pm for your guests to enter and take their seats as directed by the ushers. The ceremony procession will start at approximately 6.45pm and the duration will be around 90 minutes.

Graduation Ceremony and Celebration Reception tickets will be issued to you upon registration at the Kentish Barn reception area (tickets will not be sent to you in advance); please remember to bring your online booking confirmation email(s) with you to gain access into the Cathedral precincts. Ceremony tickets are required, and will need to be presented, to gain access to the Cathedral.
