SynergEyes UK will be donating £1 to charity for every SynergEyes hybrid contact lens order placed during the week commencing 10 November 2017.

The National Keratoconus Foundation is aiming to raise global awareness around keratoconus and its impact on patients’ lives with World Keratoconus Day on 10 November.

SynergEyes has a range of hybrid lenses specifically designed for keratoconus and works with hundreds of UK hospitals and specialist contact lens clinics. The company is helping to transform patients’ lives with UltraHealth, one of the most advanced technology hybrid contact lenses for keratoconus and post-refractive surgery patients.

If left untreated, keratoconus can lead to significant visual impairment and legal blindness. It occurs in about one out of every 2,000 people in the general population and is found in all parts of the world and in all ethnic groups.

Hans Sunassee, sales manager of Positive Impact, the UK distributor of SynergEyes contact lenses, said: “Raising awareness of this progressive disease that affects thousands of people every day is hugely important. Diagnosis can be devastating and understanding treatment options for the treatment of keratoconus, and knowing that there is hope for you, is the most important part of living with this progressive disease.”

Mr Sunassee added: “SynergEyes hybrid contact lens are specifically designed for the treatment of keratoconus and other corneal irregularities. A hybrid contact lens combines the best of both worlds – the crisp vision of a gas permeable contact lens but with the all-day comfort and convenience of a soft lens. We know from patient testimonials just how transformed a patient’s life can be wearing these fantastic lenses.”

In support of World Keratoconus Day, SynergEyes UK will donate £1 for every SynergEyes contact lens order placed from November 10-17 to its chosen charity of the year, The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. The British charity was founded in 1934 and helps blind and partially sighted people across the UK through the provision of guide dogs, mobility and other rehabilitation services.
