From Summer 2010, as agreed at the Academic Committee meeting of February 24th, changes have been made to Sections D and E and to Portfolio Assessment. For a copy of these changes, please select the link.

I would like to wish you a very warm welcome to the Examinations & Registration Department. Currently the Association offers five qualifications:
- Diploma in Ophthalmic Dispensing level 6
- Certificate in Contact Lens Practice level 6
- Diploma in Advanced Contact Lens Practice level 7
- Diploma in The Assessment & Management of Low Vision level 6
- Diploma in Spectacle Lens Design level 7
At present the Association is working towards having all its qualifications accredited on the National Framework.
We are very proud to announce that the regulatory authorities (QCA in England, DELLS in Wales and CEA in Northern Ireland) have accredited the ABDO Diploma in Ophthalmic Dispensing at level 6 on the National Qualifications Framework. This is equivalent to a Bachelors Degree with Honours or graduate certificates and graduate diplomas.
As a member of the Association, you can be assured that your qualifications will be regulated because our members and employees want qualifications that are appropriate, of high quality, valued and respected.
