New Business Guide for ABDO members

New Business Guide for ABDO members

As part of its ongoing Business Support programme, the Association of British Dispensing Opticians has issued a new eBook for members, the Independent Practice Guide. The eBook which has been developed along with the AOP (Association of Optometrists) covers key issues from business planning and finance through to staff management and marketing.

ABDO Sector Skills Development Officer Nick Walsh says, “This book gives a great first insight into some really key areas for both new business owners and also those considering going into ownership of an independent practice. The first steps are often the most daunting, and it’s good to get some valuable pointers and to know that there is lots of support out there for you as an independent optician”

ABDO Members can download the eBook from within its Business Support Hub, where ABDO also offers an extensive range of resources to help you develop your career and business. Members of ABDO also have access to a member to member mentoring programme and the forthcoming Become an independent optician twilight session to help you find out more about what it really means to run your own business in Birmingham on 21st May 2019, 3.30pm – 6.30pm
