Early bird registration is now open for the British Contact Lens Association’s (BCLA) clinical conference next year.
Taking place on 19 and 20 June in Birmingham, the event will mark 50 years of the BCLA – bringing together clinicians, researchers, educators and industry leaders for a two-day programme.
Early bird pricing runs until 31 January 2027, then standard rates will apply. BCLA members will benefit from a special member rate as well as the early booking discount, offering significant savings.
BCLA chief executive, Brad Parkes, said: “As we approach our 50th anniversary clinical conference, we are preparing a truly landmark programme that reflects both the heritage and future of the profession.
“Early bird registration offers delegates the best possible value and ensures they secure access to what will be one of the most significant BCLA events to date. We strongly encourage delegates to book early to take advantage of the early bird rates.”
The programme will feature five learning tracks across the two-day format, including the new clinical track, alongside lectures and workshops. These cover updates on the BCLA CLEAR initiatives in astigmatism and myopia, dry eye management, speciality contact lenses for complex cases, and 30 years of disposable contact lens innovation.
The conference will also take a closer look at the legacy and future direction of the BCLA, while marking the progress of the Association journal – Contact Lens and Anterior Eye.
Key highlights across the weekend will include the BCLA Medal Address, the Irving Fatt Memorial Lecture, scientific presentations showcasing cutting-edge research, clinical training workshops, peer review sessions, and an exhibition presenting the latest technologies and solutions in eyecare.
The conference will also host BCLA Celebrates – sold out in 2025 – featuring the BCLA professionals awards, including dry eye practitioner of the year and myopia management practitioner of the year.
The BCLA aims to induct 50 new Fellows to mark the 50th anniversary.
