Throughout October, Eyecare FAQ will be focusing on cosmetic contact lenses.
October is the perfect time to remind your patients about the dangers of cosmetic contact lenses that are not fitted by professionals.
This year we will be running a public campaign, and you can get involved.
The campaign aims to educate the public about safe contact lens wear, while reinforcing the important role dispensing opticians and optical practices play in protecting eye health.
How you can get involved
We are inviting members and practices to support the campaign by:
- Sharing ABDO social media content throughout October
- Posting your own contact lens safety messages on social media
- Speaking to patients about decorative contact lenses before Halloween
- Contacting local media using the practice press release template
- Displaying campaign materials in your practice and on your website
