LOCSU News

Call To Action date confirmed
The Call To Action for Eye Health is to be launched at the Vision UK 2014 conference on Thursday 12 June by Mike Bewick, deputy medical director of NHS England.

Responses to the Call To Action consultation will help form a new strategy for primary care to be announced later in the year.

LOCSU is urging LOCs to respond to the consultation and use it as huge opportunity for the optical sector ‒ and community optometry in particular ‒ to show how eye health can play an important role in helping the NHS meet the challenges of financial constraints and demographic change.

Watch out for further information in LOCSU News, the optical press and other publications on how you can play your part and local events that you can participate in to help get the message across to commissioners about the importance of developing community services through the national strategy for primary care.
