Meta has announced the launch of Ray-Ban Meta Audio – its first audio glasses – and the biggest expansion of AI glasses yet through its partnership with EssilorLuxottica.
At its annual Connect event, the company said it planned to offer more than 100 different eyewear options across Ray-Ban, Oakley and Meta Glasses, including lightweight frames made for all-day wear and new styles with slimmer designs and longer battery life, by the end of this year.
At just 43 grams, Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses are camera-free and feature adjustable temple tips, adjustable or swappable nose pads, and overextension hinges. AI assistant offers hands-free audio for up to 12 hours on a single charge, with up to an additional 48 hours from the included charging case.
The prescription-ready frames come in 23 colour and lens combinations in either a Ray-Ban Clubmaster style or a Ray-Ban Burbank style.
The company also announced Ray-Ban Meta 3, its next generation camera-enabled smartglasses featuring a 12 MP camera and 3K Ultra HD video recording, a new Meta Glasses collection designed with international icon, LISA, and a limited edition personalisable Meta Fury style.
