The Head of ABDO CET, Paula Stevens has announced that she intends to stand down from her leadership role in June 2018. Paula has decided to reduce her hours in advance of fully retiring in 2020.
In her new role Paula will continue to look after the distance learning aspect of ABDO CET, whilst the new Head of Department settles into the wider role of providing first class CET across all formats to ABDO members in the years ahead.
Paula joined ABDO as Head of CET in 1999. She set up the department from scratch in advance of CET becoming mandatory for dispensing opticians. Since then ABDO CET has become one of the largest providers of CET in the UK and offers sufficient CET points for all members to be able to complete the requirements of the GOC.
ABDO General Secretary said “Paula Stevens has done a remarkable job for ABDO and more particularly its members. It would be impossible to accurately describe just how much we owe her for dedication, innovation and determination. I am delighted that Paula will continue to work within the CET department to ensure a seamless handover over the next two years”
