Working as part of the Optical Confederation, ABDO has updated guidance for members on data protection and implementation of the General Data Protection Regulations.
Initial guidance was developed in advance of the legislation on what it would mean for optical practices, but some areas were under negotiation right up until the legislation was passed by Parliament. This new guidance which is attached below clarifies important issues, particularly that all optical practices that perform GOS sight tests will have to appoint a statutory Data Protection Officer.
