Myopia management in the spotlight

Get up to speed on myopia management by joining a free webinar from the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA).

An expert panel will discuss the latest guidance, due imminently, from the College of Optometrists. The session, online at 7pm, Tuesday 6 September, is open to all.

Luke Stevens-Burt, BCLA chief executive, said: “Myopia management is an increasingly important area of optical practice, given the spiralling prevalence of myopia globally, and has the potential to reshape the role of optometry in public health for the next generation.

“This panel discussion will explore the latest developments in myopia management, especially the soon-to-be-published guidance by the College of Optometrists. Industry experts and representatives of the major professional bodies will share their views on what clinicians need to know and what they need to do in this emerging field of practice.”

The webinar will be facilitated by Richard Edwards, a clinical consultant to the Optical Consumer Complaints Service. The panellists are:

  • Max Halford, ABDO clinical lead
  • Peter Hampson, Association of Optometrists clinical & professional director
  • Dr Paramdeep Bilkhu, clinical adviser to the College of Optometrists.
