If you have already attained the Certificate in Contact Lens Practice why not use the experience you have gained to develop to the next level – and start the process by taking one of the units which relates to everyday practice, like toric lenses or presbyopic correction?
The syllabus is in five units:
Candidates can choose the order in which the five units are taken and if singly, small groups or in total. The only requirement is that they are all sat within a three year period and passed within five years of the first unit examination. Successful completion of the assessments will result in the award of the Diploma in Advanced Contact Lens Practice, permitting the use of the letters FBDO (Hons) CL.

The ABDO Level 7 Diploma in Paediatric Eyecare is designed to develop advanced clinical, communication and analytical skills required for high‑quality paediatric practice.
The programme combines online synchronous and asynchronous learning, interactive CPD activities and practical skills development, leading to a final professional assessment that brings together your knowledge, clinical reasoning and evidence‑based decision‑making.
The programme consists of seven online modules, interactive online CPD activities and a face‑to‑face practical workshop day, followed by a final professional assessment.
The total expected learning commitment is approximately 900 hours, including taught content, self‑directed study, practical skills development and assessment preparation.
