OSA tables spring meeting topics

OSA chair, Roy Stoner

The Optical Suppliers Association (OSA) will review digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM) and e-health strategies in optometry and ophthalmology at its spring members’ meeting on 3 April in London.

Consolidating the industry response to national guidelines is an important aspect of moving the adaptation of technology forward, believes the OSA, which is encouraging all businesses involved in this sector to attend.

Additionally, Nathan Garnett, director of 100% Optical, will give a review of February’s event, as well as discuss ideas for next year’s show and how best to unite all aspects of the industry and profession.

Roy Stoner, OSA chair, said: “This is an opportunity to have your say as to how you would like the industry to move forward in supporting and empowering the profession. OSA meetings are a great forum for generating ideas to work together on so many issues.”

The OSA meeting – at Friends House, Euston Road, from 11am-3pm – will bring an update on: DICOM and e-health; medical devices regulation and the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulation Authority; 100% Optical 2024; and OSA Green Charter auditing.

“Sustainability and e-health are the major focus as they underpin all aspects of our members’ businesses,” continued Roy. “We will also be updating everyone on a new courier service trial and plans for our summer event in June at the Belfry.

“We hope to see a good gathering at Friends House, with OSA members bringing along colleagues who look after their sustainability and e-health strategies.”
