Scottish group appoints new CEO

The Duncan and Todd Group has appointed Mat Norris as its new CEO. He joins the group from Aqualisa – a leading smart and digital shower designer and manufacturer.

Frances Rus, the outgoing CEO, will transition to non-executive director – continuing to serve on the board of directors and remaining a significant shareholder in Duncan and Todd.

Earlier this year, Mat collaborated with the group during the relocation of its lens manufacturing arm, Caledonian Optical, into the new, state-of-the-art optical manufacturing facility in Dyce, Aberdeen.

He said: “I am thrilled to join the fantastic team at Duncan and Todd and very pleased to continue to have Frances’s expertise remain on the board. Frances’ deep insights, gained through devoted service to the industry, will help continue the success of the group.”

Frances commented: “I extend my warmest congratulations to Mat in his new role. I know he will embrace the opportunities that lie ahead with the same passion and dedication that defines our organisation.”

Duncan Gibson, chair of Duncan & Todd Group, added: “We are delighted that Mat will be joining the group as CEO. Mat has an impressive track record of leadership within the consumer and manufacturing sectors and made a great impression when supporting the Caledonian Optical move to its impressive new facility.

“After nearly four decades of dedicated service and her significant role in growing our business, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to Frances for her outstanding contributions. We look forward to her ongoing positive impact in her new capacity as a non-executive director,” he added.
