Stand for the BCLA council

Nominations sought for BCLA Council

BCLA Council members are passionate about contact lenses and anterior eye health

The British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) has called on committed eyecare professionals to join its council.

Council members play an integral role in setting and delivering the strategic direction of the organisation. They represent members and help to make sure that different views across the association, profession and industry are included.

They provide leadership, promote the BCLA and attend council meetings, CPD events and conferences.

Chief executive Luke Stevens-Burt said: “A BCLA council member has a passion for contact lenses and anterior eye health. Council members are expected to know, understand and support our mission, goals, policies, programmes, services, strengths, and needs.

“The council has ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of the association, ensuring it is solvent, well-run and delivering the outcomes for which it has been set up.

“We look forward to receiving applications from eye care professionals who are committed to an exciting future for contact lenses.”

The opportunity is open to contact lens opticians, experienced and newly qualified optometrists, ophthalmologists, industry and technical specialists. Nominations close on 26 April. Voting will be online during May. New council members will be announced at the AGM in June.
