GOC appoints new lay member

Tim Parkinson

Tim Parkinson has been appointed as the newest lay member of the General Optical Council (GOC) for a period of four years.

He replaces Deborah Bowman, who resigned on 8 February.

Tim is the director of his own board-level consultancy business and has more than 20 years of senior leadership experience.

GOC chair, Gareth Hadley, said: “I am pleased to welcome Tim to the council. He brings to us a wide range of corporate experience gained within regulated 24/7 service businesses.

“I am sure that he will prove to be a major asset to our Council and the challenges that we will face in the coming years in our core task of protecting the public in the rapidly changing field of healthcare professional service delivery.”
