Providing outreach to comminities in Guatemala
Eyespace supported a recent optical outreach initiative in Guatemala, working in collaboration with Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Rawlings Opticians and Hoya, to help deliver essential vision care to children in disadvantaged communities.
Led by Nadeem Ali, the mission saw the team carry out eye examinations for more than 300 children, identifying those in need of corrective lenses and helping to provide access to spectacles to help improve both educational outcomes and day-to-day quality of life.
As part of its contribution, Eyespace supplied a selection of its Rock Star frames, chosen to ensure durability, comfort and suitability across a wide range of sizes and fits.
The initiative builds on previous collaboration between the partners, reflecting a shared commitment to widening access to vision care and supporting meaningful, on-the-ground impact through long-term partnerships.
Julie Abel, co-founder of Eyespace, commented: “Access to clear vision is something many of us take for granted, yet it has a profound impact on a child’s ability to learn, develop and engage with the world around them. We are incredibly pleased to be involved in supporting such a meaningful initiative alongside our partners, contributing to something that will have a lasting impact for the children involved.”
The initiative aligns with Eyespace’s broader commitment to responsible business practices.
