Optimum boosts students’ lenses learning

Optimum sales director, Mark Marland

Students at ABDO College will be able to discover more about lenses, thanks to sponsorship from Optimum for the new Optimum Rx Lens Specialists Library.

Optimum will be refreshing the library with exciting new displays. Sales director, Mark Marland, said: “The displays will be in the format of various literature packs that students can take away and keep for reference. Complex lens displays show the various lenses that can be produced at Optimum, concentrating on the weird and wonderful in uncut form and glazed specials such as Franklin splits. These displays also showcase our coatings and specialist tints, backed with a digital screen with educational videos.

“The motivation to be involved with ABDO College came from our feedback via students that have previously visited Optimum during their ABDO Case 51 laboratory tours. We want to continue to educate students wherever we can about what is available when faced with the most complex of prescriptions,” Mark added.

Dr Robert Cubbidge, principal of ABDO College, welcomed the support saying: “On behalf of ABDO College I would like to thank Optimum Rx Lens Specialists for sponsoring the new Optimum Rx Lens Specialists Library and supporting our students through their optical education which will help our students gain technical knowledge of the lens products available in the UK.”
