Virtual workshop on corneal conditions

Community Health and Eyecare (CHEC) is to hold a CPD event with ophthalmologist, Nikolina Budimlija, on 5 October.

Run in collaboration with Scope Eyecare, the session is part of CHEC’s expanding services.

Guest speaker Ms Budimlija will be discussing common corneal conditions. She has over 13 years’ experience, graduating from the University of Zagreb and training in ophthalmic surgery at the Clinical Hospital Centre, Sestre Milosrdnice, Zagreb. Ms Budimlija has been part of the Institute of Eye Surgery (IoES) since 2019.

The workshop takes place online, 7-8pm on 5 October. Upcoming CPD sessions include seminars, virtual and in-person, to celebrate CHEC’s brand-new Accrington treatment centre, opening in November. A further joint CHEC and Scope education session has been announced for 29 November.

Jon Dore, CHEC chief operating officer, said: “This collaboration with Scope Eyecare allows both organisations to share expertise and support community optometrists with their ongoing educational development. Our upcoming virtual CPD events will prove helpful for optometrists in their day to day work and we are excited to see this partnership flourish as we plan further joint events.”

Tom Freyne, managing director at Scope, said:We are proud to collaborate on quality education events with CHEC.”
