ABDO has appointed Debbie McGill as its new head of policy and public affairs.

Debbie has worked in optical policy for 12 years and has been ABDO policy and public affairs officer since February 2018.

Commenting on her new role, Debbie said: ” “I’m really pleased to accept this new position within ABDO. I will continue to deliver the policy aims and objectives to maintain, promote and develop the dispensing optician workforce, by identifying opportunities in line with service pathways and patient need.

“ABDO represents all dispensing and contact lens opticians throughout the UK independently and as part of the UK representative bodies, where we work together to represent the whole of the optical profession.

“I look forward to continuing these relationships as I undertake my new position.”
