DO wins name the robot competition

Newly-named Teara with Dr Hilary Jones and Body Doctor founder, Sue Grant

Dispensing optician, Julia Lewis, has won a luxury London dining experience for two at Gordon Ramsay’s Savoy Grill after taking part in the Body Doctor’s ‘Name the robot’ competition at 100% Optical.

The newest member of the Body Doctor team is called Teara, and was named by Julia, who works at Boots Opticians.

To enter the competition, show visitors had to meet the robot, take a photo or video then give the robot a name and share their suggestion in a LinkedIn post.

The interactive talking robot was a big hit at the show – and was filmed on the stand being interviewed by TV’s Dr Hilary Jones.

The demonstration zone on the stand featured Dr Peter Pham, the inventor of the in-practice deep cleansing treatment, Zest (Zocular Eyelid System Treatment) and the Zocular cleansers, who travelled from Texas for the event.

NuLids CEO, Rob Foster, gave demonstrations of the NuLids Pro device. The LifeMeter also offered readings of visitors’ carotenoids levels on the stand.

MacuHealth’s vice president of international operations, Karen Fennell, was on the stand explaining about MacuPrime eye health supplements and ReMind brain health supplements.

Karen also took part in Euromonitor’s Top Global Consumer Trends panel discussion, highlighting how evidence-based nutrition caters to Healthspan plans which educate younger generations using practical, proven targeted solutions to potential health problems.

At the show, the Body Doctor launched its updated Dry Eye Revolution package and discussed other products in its portfolio.

More than 40 practitioners and key optical opinion leaders also attended the company’s ‘beer and bowling’ social event held in a retro-American boutique venue on London’s famous Brick Lane.

Sam Wymer, Body Doctor sales and marketing director, said: “100% Optical 2025 was a phenomenal success for the Body Doctor. The sheer volume of visitors to our stand is a true testament to how far we’ve come as a business.

“We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, supported us and shared in our journey. The future is looking brighter than ever, and we can’t wait to return next year — bigger, better and even more exciting than before.”
