After extensive discussions with colleagues at LOCSU, ABDO is delighted to release the Minor Eye Conditions Service Pathway in England. At present over 160 contact lens opticians have commenced the WOPEC on-line modules, with 22 passing the first OSCE session last summer.
Commenting on the pathway ABDO Deputy Chief Executive Barry Duncan said,’ We are delighted that this pathway has been redeveloped to incorporate the role of the contact lens optician. In the current climate the multi-disciplinary approach in an optical practice will ensure patient care and service delivery on the high street continues to grow. From a professional perspective, it proves beyond doubt that CLO’s have a major role to play in eyecare provision now and in the future.
