The late Annette Maria Elisabeth Stege-Dean
Annette Maria Elisabeth Stege-Dean, 63, of South Woodham Ferrers, Chelmsford, sadly passed away on Monday 19 May 2025 at Farleigh Hospice, Chelmsford, Essex.
A native of Bremen, Germany, Annette trained and qualified as a dispensing optician and moved to the UK at the age of 23 to continue her career.
Annette was employed by Carl Zeiss in Welwyn Garden City, and became well known by opticians around London and Essex Opticians, where she continued with her profession as a dispensing optician.
In 2010, Annette studied for a degree to become a psychodynamic xounsellor, a qualification she earned in 2013 enabling her to continue with her life’s ambition of being able to help and support people in need.
Annette was diagnosed with endometrial carcinoma on 19 December 2024 and fought bravely for five months, sadly surrendering to the disease on the 19 May 2025.
A funeral service to celebrate Annette’s life was held on Wednesday 11 June 2025 at Maldon Fields Crematorium, Maldon, Essex, which was attended by close family and friends.
