iDay centres on private eyecare model

The four Ps of Profitable Practice Post Pandemic was the focus for the 2023 Independents Day (iDay) event held on 3 July in Birmingham.

More than 95 practitioners attended the one-day business conference event, organised by Proven Track Record. More than 50 per cent of delegates were attending iDay for the first time.

PTR managing director and organiser, Nick Atkins, said: “We were really pleased with the numbers this year, which clearly showed this was an important topic.

“Some delegates had already gone private, and many were thinking of doing so – and were looking to our speakers to just give them that final nudge of confidence.

“Looking at the pros and pitfalls of going private continues iDay’s long-standing ambition of helping independents to expand their clinical services to generate more revenue from the professional work they do,” Nick added.

A highlight of the event was a discussion featuring leading practice owners Sophie Taylor-West, Anthony Josephson, Martin Smith, Keval Sejpar and Keyur Patel (pictured), who shared their own experiences of going private in a session chaired by Trevor Rowley, managing director of Optix Software.
