Independent Opticians Win SightCare Excellence Awards

Five deserving independent optical practices were named as winners in the inaugural 2018 SightCare Independent Optician Awards celebrating the independent spirit. The only independent optician business awards programme in the UK judged by peers from the independent optical sector.

The SightCare Awards is the premier independent business awards showcase recognising the best independent opticians from the length and breadth of the UK. Through the SightCare competition, independent practitioners and their staff enter learning initiatives and independent business content in various categories for recognition of excellence. Awards categories included: Social Media Campaign, Marketing Initiative, Practice Personality, Special Moment and Independent Practice of the Year. Finalists are selected by a group of experienced judges and, from that group of finalists, one winner from each category is awarded.

SightCare named the award winners at the annual SightCare Business & Networking Conference, the largest gathering of independent practices in the UK which took place at the Telford International Centre on 17th September.

The winners from each award category are;

INDEPENDENT PRACTICE OF THE YEAR – EGLINTON EYECARE

SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR – SIMON BERRY OPTOMETRISTS

PRACTICE PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR – CLAIRE BUCHANAN – EGLINTON EYECARE

MARKETING INITIATIVE OF THE YEAR – EDWARDS & WALKER OPTICIANS

MOMENT OF THE YEAR – MOLSOM & ASSOCIATES

SightCare Chief Executive John French said;

“Entering awards is always good for business. It is an opportunity to inspect, dissect and correct your business from the inside out. SightCare has introduced its own awards to encourage its member practices to look retrospectively, currently, and in the future at all aspects of their business, and to highlight areas in which they want to improve, grow and develop.”
