4.13.8: Any instruments or tools used within the course of clinical practice that could be in contact with bodily fluid, including the tear film, must be handled, used, disposed of or stored, at all times in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. If an instrument or tool is designed to be used on more than one occasion it must be sterilised before each use in accordance with the manufacturers instructions and/or Department of Health guidelines.
